Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct minor assignments under close supervision and bring academic learning to vocation in first permanent role.
  • Engage in value added activities by reducing unproductive rework and processing errors.
  • Analyse complex issue, evaluate information, prepare and present basic reports.
  • Develop an understanding of the business from a commercial point of view and contribute to function of assigned line/ area of business.
  • Build great relationships, share best practice thoughts, ideas and feedback with others and communicate effectively with all levels.
  • Adhere to audit and compliance requirements and ensure that all dealings undertaken are ethical and compliant.

Essential Qualifications, Professional/ Skills and Experience:

  • Degree in Commerce or Business related discipline.
  • Good communication, organisational, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to utilise research skills acquired at University and good Computer Skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision.

Salary will commensurate with skills and experience of the successful candidates.

Asia Pacific Youth Exchange Thailand (APYE) is two weeks exchange program held from 6 - 18 January 2020, aiming at Youth Empowerment to achieve Sustainable Development Goals through social innovation and social entrepreneurship. 

The program expects the participation of 130 international delegates from more than 20 countries around Asia-Pacific and the world. 

The program components include Leadership Development Training, Local Immersion, and Youth Symposium. 

Throughout the program, delegates will have practical experience from engagement with local communities and working in international teams to develop a social business proposal for Thai communities.

Porgera JV: Graduate Underground Surveyor

Main responsibility of the Underground Surveyor. Reporting to the Senior Surveyor Underground – the successful candidate will in the Graduate Trainee capacity undertake daily survey tasks which support underground production, technical services and project activities.

The ideal candidate must have:

• A Degree/Diploma in Surveying
• Current PNG Driving License  
• A minimum of six (6) months survey experience
• The Ability to use state of the art surveying equipment
• Basic Computer skills with the ability to use work processing, presentation and spreadsheet applications
• Ability to communicate effectively across all levels

Key responsibilities:

• Carry out daily working surveys for the control of all underground development and drilling
• Periodically carry out precise surveys to check the working survey accuracy and upgrade mine survey control
• Conduct CMS Surveys of all underground voids for reconciliation of actual and design mine tonnages
• Keep up-to-date the underground mine computer database of underground mine workings in accordance with all statutory requirements
• Survey of and computations for ore and waste volumes and stockpiles for the underground mine
• Compile and update mine plans as necessary
• Compile and provide End of Month survey results of all stripping, mining, stockpiles and other requirements to the Chief Mine Surveyor
• Ensure that all survey equipment is cleaned, serviced and maintained
• Work with seniors, surveyors and contractor to complete projects works
• Maintain a high level of health, safety and environmental awareness and comply with all relevant PJV policies & Procedures

NB: All applications must have an up to date Police Clearance Certificate acquired within the past six (6) months.
